Firstly, we would like to say that our team are huge fans of sailing trips. Over the last 10 years, all of our team members have managed to jump on a gulet and say that it is their favorite type of holiday.
Regardless of the duration, it is the perfect way to just relax and enjoy your time. Be ready to have a technology free time. It is more and more difficult to cut contact with real world nowadays with smart phones and Ipads but at sea you have limited access….
If you would like to do a cruise, let’s start from the beginning – whether you join one of the regular trips or you create your own group and charter your own gulet. Let’s say you have a group of 8 to 10 people, you can easily charter your own vessel for a week and sail on the route of your choosing. Gulets come in all sizes. There is no set size or standard. They can be large, small, luxury or budget standard. So there will be the perfect gulet for you group. If it is your first time and want to try it on a smaller budget, then you can check our regular tours at http://www.feztravel.com/Gulet_Sailing_Turkey.asp
Regular tours are designed for 16 – 20 people and the size of gulets are large, the cabins are designed to accommodate 2 people but most people prefer to sleep on the deck – that is what I do.
If you are travelling as a group, you might have smaller gulet based on your group size but gulets get more comfortable when they are bigger. Basically, the bigger vessel means more comfort as you will have more space.
All meals are included, you will be served breakfast, lunch & dinner with 5 o’clock tea. There is 3 crew member who is looking after you, one captain, one chef and one assistant. The kitchen is fully equipped and you will be amazed by the meals they cook. Breakfast is mainly the classic Turkish breakfast with cheese, olives and jam. If you do prefer muesli & cereal, we suggest you bring your own. Lunch is served with pasta and light meals but you will be spoiled with BBQ at dinner time. If you are following strict diet, I would suggest you to get in touch before so we could provide an alternative for you.
Lots of people think they will get bored but to tell the truth, I never get bored J. I do suggest you bring all the books that are on your list, you will have plenty of time. There is equipment for snorkelling and fishing on the board if you would like to try. If you catch some fish you can have that on the bbq for dinner.
Another thing that we would like to mention is to be minimalist when you are packing, you really don’t need much, swimsuits, shorts, T-shirts & suncream.
Now, you are ready to sail..
